Pregnancy is a very special and unique moment in the life of each woman. A time of waiting and change, a time of hope, fear of the future and the time of the greatest beauty. Some women love their new curves, others are not particularly comfortable with their new look. As a family photographer, I always see, in all pregnant women, the growth of the most powerful feeling in the world - a mother's love. When should I book a Maternity Photoshoot?

The ideal time for stylish pregnancy photos is 30-36 weeks. It is best to make a reservation early. That means a couple of weeks before the desired photoshooting. If you book early, I am sure that I can offer you a suitable date. Your baby bump photo shoot can take place outdoors or in my photo studio in Porto. I have a selection of dresses and outfits that I will provide you with free of charge for your pregnancy shoot.

Maternity Photo sessions take place:

In my studio in Ermesinde, Porto: Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and Thursday 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Outdoor: Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and Monday-Friday 6 p.m. only in summer

Our outfits are available for newborns, babies and pregnancy photo shoots. Newborns and baby clothes are handmade from high-quality, soft and natural fabrics such as soft angora wool and cotton.

When should I book a Newborn Photoshoot?

It is best if a newborn photo shoot takes place between the fifth and fourteenth day of the baby's life. Please make a reservation early, that means a couple of weeks before the planned birth. I am sure that I can offer you a suitable date. Your baby photo shoot takes place in my home photo studio in Porto.

The ideal preparation

Be positive! Tell him or her where he/she is going. There will be music, cute scenes, even a toy sheep sitting on my camera! All children are different, they have different personality, age, temperament. This is so beautiful. I will try to catch the uniqueness of your child in the photographs.

The clothes should be comfortable, without very striking colors or complicated patterns. Contact-me in advance, depending on the age of your child, I might have clothes that he or she might wear for the photoshoot.

f you perhaps have a toy or anything else that has meaning for the child or the family don't forget to bring it to the session. I will be happy to include it into the shooting setup.

When to schedule a child photo session?

Any occasion is perfect to catch his or her cuteness.

Milestone photo shooting for the smallest, maybe your baby can hold his head, learned to sit or just started to crawl. It all calls for a celebration! Lets make this memory last!

Surely first birthday photo shooting with a cake smash or splash bath will be a great adventure for the little one. First day of kindergarden, back to school photo shooting? Sure, we can do that too!

I come from Gdańsk, Poland, lived in Zurich for 15 years and have been living in Porto since 2022. I am a mother of three beautiful children and the wife of a handsome Portuguese. We speak four languages at home (portuguese, polish, english, and german). I have been a digital photo retoucher since 2008, alongsite my scientific career in Biology. Since 2018, I am a full-time photographer and owner of Kleiner Sternli Fotografie. I specialized in newborn, maternity and family photography. I participated in a number of international workshops and trainings in the field of newborn photography and the use of light in photography. I was constantly educating myself in the art of photography, processing and session planning. Meeting with families and their children during newborn photo sessions is a unique experience that is different every time. It is an amazing privilege for me to be able to document moments such as waiting for a new family member or the first days of parenthood. The most important for me as a photographer is to capture the beauty of these unique moments of your life as beautifully as possible.

To get the most beautiful photographs t is important to think of several things. Here are some tipps on preparing yourselves for the photoshoot. If you are uncertain about anything, contact me and we will figure it out together.

Pregnancy photoshoot:

- Book your photoshoot in advance. The ideal is to have your photoshoot between the 29 and 36 weeks of pregnancy.

- Choose the pregnancy dresses from my collection you would like to be photographed with

- Get a professional hairdo.

- Get a professional makeup.

- Try to have a relaxed and good night sleep the day before

- Drink enough to have beautiful skin

- Eat breakfast

- Bring your makeup and hairbrush to the photoshoot

Clothes:

- Material that doesn't easily get wrinkled

- The best colors are neutral (White, beige, gray, pastel colours, no fluorescent colours)

- classic style is best

- without complex patterns or text

- when 2 or more people are photographed together they should have similar or complementary colours and styles

Newborn photoshoot:

Baby

- Idealmente marcar a sessão fotográfica até aos 14 dias de vida. Quando é mais velho não se preocupe porque também é possível tirar fotografias lindas.

- Alimente o seu bebé pouco antes do início da sessão. Pode faze-lo convenientemente no estúdio depois de chegar.

Ainda será preciso:

- Quando alimentar o bebé com biberão, traga o leite e biberão.

- Chupeta, mesmo que normalmente não funcione,

- fraldas,

- cobertor favorito

- peluche favorito 

Vestuário:

- Mamã: camisola ou top branco / preto ou vestido sem padrão ou texto

- Pai: camisa, camisola ou T-shirt branca / preta sem padrão ou texto, calças sem padrão.

Os pais devem vestir cores parecidas

- Os irmãos devem vestir um estilo parecido ao dos pais

- Toda a família deve vestir cores parecidas

Duração

- Mesmo que tenhamos uma sessão de uma hora, reserve mais algum tempo (até 3 horas) para a sessão. Por vezes os bebés necessitam de mais algum tempo para se acalmarem e para poderem ser alimentados ou adormecerem. O essencial é que a sessão seja uma experiência relaxante para o bebé e para os pais, e por isso é importante que o tempo não seja um problema.
